Burwood AFC, Coastal Spirit FC, Ferrymead Bays FC, Parklands United Sports Club, St Albans Shirley FC and Western AFC are excited to announce a major step forward in the establishment of a new entity for the East Christchurch football community.

The six clubs have considered a collaborative way forward for our Junior and Youth players through the formation of a new organisation on the east side of the city, in the form of new, centralised Youth Talent Development Programme and Skill Centre Development Programme, with the aim of providing the best possible football pathway for our aspiring young footballers.

Talks have been extremely positive and we are delighted to announce that representatives from each of the six clubs have signed off on a collective agreement while Mainland Football who have been working closely with the clubs on the project.

All six clubs are excited to present this fantastic opportunity as the preferred pathway for aspiring players and coaches on our side of the city.

Each club will continue to operate as community Junior and Youth clubs and as community and competitive Senior clubs. They will come together to deliver Skills Centres for 9-12 year olds looking for extra training sessions with qualified coaches, and Youth players from all six clubs will have the opportunity to compete in the 2023 Canterbury Development Leagues across grades U13, U14, U15, U17.
